Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the INATOM Rwanda website, membership platform, courses, events, and related services. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using www.inatom.org and its features (the “Service”), operated by INATOM Rwanda (the Institute for Nuclear Education, Awareness and Technology Outreach), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
- You may enable two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security to your account.
- Accounts are personal to you. You may not share, sell, or transfer your account or allow anyone else to use it.
3. Membership and roles
The Service offers membership levels (such as Member, Certified Member, Professional, and Ambassador) and roles that grant different features. Advancement, verification, and role assignments are at INATOM Rwanda’s discretion and may be based on your participation, achievements, or verification of professional status. Membership does not create an employment, agency, or partnership relationship with INATOM Rwanda.
4. Courses, certificates, and events
- Course content is provided for educational purposes. Completion requirements, quizzes, and assessments are set by instructors and INATOM Rwanda.
- Certificates are issued based on your completion of the relevant requirements. We reserve the right to withhold or revoke a certificate obtained through error, fraud, or violation of these terms.
- Event registrations and applications may be subject to approval, capacity limits, eligibility criteria, and additional event-specific terms. Some events are by invitation only.
5. Acceptable use
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of others;
- Submit false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or offensive content;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or our systems;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by introducing malware or circumventing security or rate-limiting measures;
- Cheat on quizzes or assessments, or misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or achievements;
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute content without authorisation, or use the Service to build a competing product.
6. Community and member conduct
INATOM Rwanda brings together students, researchers, and professionals to share knowledge and best practice. To keep this a trusted and respectful community, members are expected to:
- Act honestly and with integrity in all matters relating to INATOM Rwanda and its community;
- Treat other members, instructors, and staff with respect, and refrain from harassment or discrimination;
- Treat sensitive or non-public information shared in courses, events, forums, and private communications as confidential, and not disclose it to others without the consent of the person who shared it;
- Use information and materials shared through the Service only for the purposes for which they were intended;
- Not use other members’ contact information for commercial, marketing, or other unsolicited purposes;
- Respect INATOM Rwanda’s copyrights and intellectual-property rights, as well as those of others.
Comments and views expressed by members in courses, events, or forums are their own and do not necessarily reflect the positions of INATOM Rwanda, and should not be represented as such. A serious or repeated breach of this conduct may result in suspension or removal of your account and, where applicable, revocation of roles or certificates.
7. User content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as profile details, questions, posts, and showcase entries). By submitting content, you grant INATOM Rwanda a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use that content as necessary to operate and promote the Service. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its courses, text, graphics, logos, the INATOM name and brand, and software, is owned by or licensed to INATOM Rwanda and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as expressly permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, remove content, or revoke roles or certificates if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that harms INATOM Rwanda, other users, or third parties. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings; deletion is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
The Service and its educational content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. INATOM Rwanda does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that the content is complete or suitable for any particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, INATOM Rwanda and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless INATOM Rwanda from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your breach of these terms, your content, or your misuse of the Service.
13. Links to other websites
The Service may contain links to websites operated by other organisations. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those websites, and providing a link does not imply endorsement. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any site you visit.
14. Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service will be subject to the competent courts of Rwanda.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
